Institut für Rundfunktechnik (IRT) soll geschlossen werden

Das Institut für Rundfunktechnik (IRT), das Forschungsinstitut aller öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunkanstalten Deutschlands, Österreichs und der Schweiz mit Sitz in München-Freimann soll offenbar zum Ende des Jahres 2020 geschlossen und alle Mitarbeiter entlassen werden. Amateurfunkrelevant war z.B. der wichtige Beitrag „Störungen durch LED-Leuchtmittel“, welcher auf der Webseite des Bayerischen Rundfunks erschien und anschließend in den Medien diskutiert wurde. Nun ist eine Online-Petition zum Erhalt des IRT gestartet worden.

 

 

 

Das Institut betreibt Forschung auf dem Gebiet der Technik von Hörfunk, Fernsehen und Internet. Es verbessert bestehende Systemlösungen für die Produktion und die Verbreitung von Rundfunkdiensten, entwickelt und beurteilt neue Technologien und begleitet deren Umsetzung in die Praxis. Das IRT vertritt die Interessen des Rundfunks durch seine Mitarbeit in verschiedenen internationalen Gremien wie z. B. EBU, ITU, DVB, WorldDAB etc. Sämtliche Gesellschafter erklärten ihren Gesellschaftervertrag mit dem IRT zum 31. Dezember 2020 zu kündigen. Nun steht das renommierte Institut für technische Grundlagenforschung vor dem Aus. Darüber informiert Kurt Röhlig, DL3UXI.
