The European Radio Amateurs' Organization announces a new party on the air, this time with the motto: "novices also exist". Remember this is not a contest, it is just a radio meeting with a few simple 'rules', better to call them recommendations.
The European Emergency Communications Exercise held on October 3, was the second edition of this kind of exercices, in which participated hams and SWLs from: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, UK, ...
Some of the participants were volunteers in local sections of organizations like Red Cross. Others transmitted from their radio club stations. But most of them were at home.
Propagation allowed only QSOs on 40m band, not on 20m. But despite that, several messages crossed the continent.
In just four hours you can win original and funny prizes that you can share with your mate or friends: hotels, restaurants, wellness or adventures.
Moreover, you will have the opportunity to contact those radio clubs you still needed to complete the EANET Award.
The European Emergency Communications Exercise (EECE) is about to practice the exchange of messages between radio amateurs with some fixed data, using a template like this:
Before every Exercise, download the previous template and print several copies in order to be ready to listen and write down messages.
Here you are an example of a real message sent in a previous Exercise:
The main goal is to practice the skills needed to exchange messages, with an specific pattern, between hams in different countries.
The frequencies to be used are: on 40m (7.110 KHz) and on 20m (14.300 KHz), both in SSB. The language: English.
Lots of hams to greet and exchange views. Members, yes, but also friends. Some of them old friends of each year. Others just met for the first time. True ham spirit in the air. That's our hobby, that's EURAO.
Let's tell you what happened that weekend...
Good luck in your job, guys.
